Back and Forth, Come and Go is a series of glimpses into a liminal space, where we are not one place or another, we are halfway between.
It is a captured meditation on how people choose to navigate this portal between places, where time transitions and slows. Brimming with the potential to break our patterns, to turn the switch off, the lights down and allow our heads to be free. It is an intimate, contemplative space.
We choose our companions or our solace. Some text, type, shuffle or sigh. Many more turn into the light, clasp their hands in silence and float through the portal.

Hi, Nicole here. This is a little behind the scenes info on this project, to provide some context for you to enjoy the imagery more closely.
Back and Forth, come and Go: This project was born out of a new commute from Geelong to Melbourne and back, on the train. It was moving between an old home and a new home for me, this space and I found myself being part of a temporary community. It felt like its own little world, early morning and early evening, soft side light that just makes everything so beautiful and so new. Because it’s different every moment, every day, even during a daily commute.
And it lifts the experience into this other sphere of being able to consider it in a new way. It’s like a meditation. The You Yangs – always look different. Always look beautiful, always interesting. The super slow window raindrops, the hairstyles, the human details. I began to look forward to all of these things and this time. It really made the transition of our life from one place to another less of an upheaval and more of a beautiful transition to enjoy.
