Hi, Nicole here. This is a little behind the scenes info on this project, to provide some context for you to enjoy the imagery more closely.

I was engaged by City of Greater Geelong to document the Women in Community Life Awards. This event showcases and celebrates the outstanding achievements of local women that contribute to a thriving and more equitable community. I got to help design a fun photo booth for attendees. We found this dramatic purple spotlight from the events crew, which helped create a great atmosphere.

The mood was very buoyant and supportive. These kinds of events are a pleasure to be part of. The guest speaker was Nova Paris and her stories and presence were so powerful. It was incredible to meet her and to delve into a deeper layer of local women leading and impacting our community in positive ways. The images were used on various online communications about the event to announce the winners and across social media and on the city’s website.
